Small Infill and Mixed Use Development

Small Infill and Mixed Use Development: The new normal for the San Diego Region? Beyond suburban master planned communities and few large-scale residential mid and high rise projects, most of San Diego's growth is coming from small infill and mixed use developers throughout the urban and coastalcommunities. How are the small projects getting designed, approved and financed given how disadvantaged they are lacking the economies of scale of large projects. What creative designs and processes are being implemented to integrate projects into existing communities? As the region runs out of developable land, how can the cities develop a more streamline process so that it becomes easier to build these smart and sustainable infill projects? Panel Moderator: Eric Nasland, Studio E Architects Panel of Speakers: Russ Murfey, Veritas Urban Properties Lloyd Russell, AIA Mike Burnett, Foundation for Form Architects
