US Navy League Convention

Convention attendees will focus on military issues relating to family and spouses, legislative affairs, youth programs, and more. Convention activity highlights include a sunset cruise on the America, town hall meeting with the National President, NASSCO shipyard visit, submarine tour, exhibits featuring a watercraft display, a San Diego Padres game, and other receptions and luncheons throughout the week. In addition, a fundraising event aboard the Berkeley will help support local charities, including Home Front San Diego, Next Step Service Dogs, and Armed Services YMCA Warrior Care Initiative.

Credit Report 101

Do you know how to read a credit report? Do you know how to obtain a free one, or how often you can get one? If you don’t, you’re not alone. According to a 2013 study conducted by Consumer Federation of America and VantageScore Solutions, many Americans are still in the dark when it comes to understanding credit reports and scores. Credit Report 101 attendees will learn how a credit report is used by lenders, employers and others considering a financial commitment with an individual. Attendees will gain some great tips on improving their credit score and some general tips on managing credit. Another class is offered from 6pm-7:30pm.

Poway Chmber 64th Annual Installation Mixer

This business casual event is open to members of the Chamber and non-members. Guests will enjoy delicious hors d'oeuvres compliments of StoneRidge Country Club. Mayor Don Higginson will swear in the incoming 2014-2015 Board of Directors. Cathy Peterson, Farmers Insurance, will serve another term as Chair of the Board of Directors. Peterson will also have the pleasure of introducing Dan Singer, Poway’s new City Manager to the membership and other special guests. All active Chamber members receive complimentary admission when by registering online or by calling the office to RSVP. Otherwise there will be $10.00 charge at the door. Non-members may attend one complimentary mixer as a guest of the Chamber free of charge per calendar year.

La Jolla Playhouse has announced the latest production in its acclaimed site-based Without Walls (WoW) theatre series: El Henry, written by and starring Culture Clash’s Herbert Siguenza, directed by San Diego REPertory Theatre Artistic Director Sam Woodhouse.
