Fresh Paint California: A Plein Air Art Exhibition

The exhibition will showcase some of California’s finest plein air painters. Plein air artists paint outdoors to capture the spontaneity and transience of light as it is reflected on the natural world. The exhibition includes paintings done in outdoor locations, as well as ones painted in studio environments after the artist has created smaller outdoor studies. The public is invited to the artists’ reception on Sunday, June 29, 2-4 p.m

Jade Heart

JADE HEART tells the story of Jade McCullough, a woman abandoned as an infant in China and adopted to America by a single Caucasian mother. Moving backward and forward in time from Jade’s childhood until her mid-twenties, the play explores themes of identity, race, parent/child interdependency, and coming of age. This West Coast Premiere by playwright Will Cooper will be directed by MOXIE Artistic Director, Delicia Turner Sonnenberg.

An impressive collection by famed Artist and philanthropist Mackenzie Thorpe will be on exhibition and available for acquisition at Legends Gallery Fine Art of La Jolla. The exhibition marks the Artist’s return to La Jolla after many years, and this retrospective is a newly-curated presentation of his extraordinary works. The exhibition premiers on Saturday, July 26 with a Meet the Artist reception from 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm.
