TIJUANA ESTUARY HOSTS OPEN HOUSE

The theme for the night is ‘Fabulous Fishes,’ where families can discover the fascinating facts about estuary fishes by participating in hands-on activities. This is a rare opportunity to see the reserve in the evening, when light-footed clapper rails are calling and the lights of Tijuana are shining to the south. Families are encouraged to spend the evening by visiting some of the new local restaurants that have opened recently in Imperial Beach, such as Filippi’s, SEA 180 Coastal Tavern, Barrels Restaurant and Lounge, and Babycakes Bake Shop and Coffee House. Guests are also invited to picnic at the visitor center during the event. The Tijuana River Estuary is a rich biological area where the river meets the sea, and where two countries come together at the border.
