Apartment Association introduces new board

We are beginning what promises to be an outstanding year for our business in San Diego. To push our industry forward, the San Diego County Apartment Association (SDCAA) is pleased to begin 2013 by introducing its new board of directors.

Newly appointed President Carroll Whaler, CPM and vice president of H. G. Fenton

Company, brings an exciting vision to SDCAA. Carroll is recognized around the industry for her work in residential property management and has more than 27 years of experience in the real-estate industry, including the development and lease-up of 7,500 units in Southern California. We are looking forward to and are grateful for her willingness to lead our Association this year.

Stacy Wells, SDCAA’s new vice-president, has worked in property management for 17 years and is currently vice president of the California Region for Fairfield Residential. During her tenure with Fairfield, Stacy made a name for herself for her leadership and ideas. We are so glad she is stepping into a greater leadership role this year.

Our entire board is comprised of professionals who are giving of their time and expertise to our industry. The talent, dedication and leadership of our board is sure to be a driving force for SDCAA to improve and move forward in 2013.

In addition to member advocacy and education seminars for new and experienced property owners, managers and suppliers, SDCAA will continue to provide much needed benefits such as resident screening and rental forms. SDCAA also is preparing for its 38th annual expo in April and for the National Apartment Association Education Conference in June, the first time ever in San Diego, which is expected to draw more than 6,000 attendees from across the country.

As always, our priority is to serve the membership. With that goal in mind, SDCAA is looking forward to an innovative and successful year.
