Help out with SDAR's Holiday House celebration

It’s that time of the year again. It might be over 80 degrees, and campaign season doesn’t always evoke holiday cheer, but the holidays are right around the corner. Every year they sneak up on us, and it’s tempting to put off preparing. The Greater San Diego Association of Realtors is getting ready on time. We are excited to once again host the Holiday House celebration, a charitable event benefiting so many people in need right here in our community.

We collected more than $10,000 in gifts and donations last year, and we need your help to make Holiday House a success this year. Between now and the first week of December, we are asking for donations of toys, clothing, household items and financial contributions at any of our numerous drop-off spots around the county. The giving culminates on Dec. 6 with the Holiday House celebration.

SDAR is in need of businesses willing to host collection bins for donated items. SDAR drops off and picks up the bins and the gifts. If your business is willing to host one, please contact SDAR today by emailing storre@sdar.com or calling 858-715-8035.

Additionally, there is an opportunity for a home to be the host location for the Dec. 6 event. This is an incredible opportunity for your listing and for your business. This year, Holiday House is benefiting some very worthy charities in San Diego. We are still adding charities but have already partnered with Feeding America, The Angel’s Depot, Homefront San Diego, Second Chance and YWCA’s Becky’s House. With so many in need in our community, the holidays are an important time to give back.

“Last year was such a success, and we were so blessed to be able to help our San Diego neighbors over the holidays," SDAR CEO Mike Mercurio said. "I couldn’t be more excited for Holiday House this year and the people that it will benefit.”
