Gaslamp Quarter

Gaslamp Quarter

5th Ave and G St
San Diego, CA 92101

The Gaslamp Quarter is San Diego's entertainment center. It offers tourists and residents 80 restaurants, clubs, theatres and galleries located in 16 blocks of historical Victorian architecture.  There are 95 historic markers on buildings that display stunning facades and other architectural details.

Located in the heart of the downtown area, the Gaslamp Quarter has had a varied history, but seems comfortable with its reinvention as entertainment center and historical district. With it proximity to Petco Park and the Convention Center, it is definitely the spot to be and be seen.

Visitors can get around the area by foot, or on guided tours by the local historic trolley company, the San Diego trolley, turn of the century cars or in a horse drawn carriage. Musical events such as Street Scene and holiday events such as Mardi Gras, Halloween and St. Patrick's Day are fun and well-attended. The Wyatt Earp Museum offers a large collection of memorabilia about the famous sheriff who lived in the Gaslamp towards the end of his life.
