US Grant Hotel

US Grant Hotel

326 Broadway
San Diego, CA 92101

Built in 1910, the newspapers of the day called the US Grant one of the great hotels of the country. Graceful architecture combines with demure elegance to create an ambiance of grandeur and sophisitication that guests and visitors are sure to enjoy.

The hotel is about to undergo a $26 million renovation that owner Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation says should bring the landmark to four-star status as well as strengthen its occupancy levels.

Plans call for closing the doors for five months beginning Jan. 31, 2005. During that time, all 273 guest rooms will be upgraded and the public spaces will be overhauled with new wall coverings, paint, carpets, furniture and fixtures. The management team and Sycuan plan to relocate the hotel's estimated 230 employees to other venues during renovation.
