LANDMARKS | NORTH ISLAND NAVAL STATION

Naval Base Coronado is comprised of both Naval Air Station North Island and Naval Amphibious Base Coronado.  It is part of Navy Region Southwest and a field activity of Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet.

NAS North Island also operates two other airfields in the Southern California region. One is Naval Auxiliary Landing Facility (NALF) San Clemente Island, located 70 miles northwest of San Diego in the California Channel Islands. The other is Outlying Field (OLF) Imperial Beach, located 10 miles south of the base on the U.S.-Mexican border.

THE NAVY IN SAN DIEGO INCLUDES HOMEPORTS FOR:

48 Surface ships, 5 Submarines, 4 Coastal Patrol Boats for our SEALS, 2 Aircraft Carriers -- RONALD REAGAN and NIMITZ, 6 USN ships
