Carlsbad's La Costa neighborhood centers around the La Costa Resort and Spa.  Built in the 60s, the recently renovated resort hosts both a major golf and a major tennis competition each year.  There are two championship golf courses and 21 tennis courts located on the 400 acres of the resort.  A full service salon and spa offer other amenities to guests.
