Located in the southeastern part of the city of San Diego, near Lemon Grove and National City, Encanto enjoys a varied topography of rolling hills and natural canyons.  It also enjoys some of the best views and lowest housing costs in the city. 

The original name of the area was Klauber Park after the original owner, Abraham Klauber.  However, his daughter renamed the area Encanto means "enchantment."
