Final San Ysdiro phase funded in 2015 budget

The final phase of the San Ysidro Land Port of Entry project received more than $216 million of funding in the Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act of fiscal year 2015, approved by Congress on Dec. 9.

Visitor Information

Located at the California and Tijuana border, San Ysidro is the southern most neighborhood of the City of San Diego.  The area is the gateway between Mexico and the U.S. and the busiest international crossing in the world.  I-5 and I-805 merge in this area and the San Diego Trolley ferrys people from the border to downtown. 

The area became part of the City in 1957, but maintains its village and agricultural environment. It is a multi-cultural community with some neighborhoods of well-tended older homes as well as newer urban neighborhoods.

High-end outlet shops open at San Ysidro shopping center

Oct. 23, 2014 -- Visitors to the various outlet stores in San Ysidro now have more shopping options, as a new outlet center opened in October. The Outlets at the Border will have stores like H&M, Armani Exchange, Nixon and A'GACI.
