Dynalectric Company powers San Diego’s hotels

San Diego is “America’s Finest City” attracting millions of tourists from around the world each year. Such tourism requires a continuous and dynamic expansion and renovation of the local hotel industry. Dynalectric helps to meet the demands of this changing marketplace and its global patrons.

Dynalectric is a full-service electrical contractor with 30 years of experience in San Diego. The company has constructed over 7 million square feet of hotel space, servicing clients that range from local owners to world-wide conglomerates.

Many recognizable San Diego hotels, such as the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, Manchester Grand Hyatt, Grand Del Mar, Omni Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel, Paradise Point Resort, Valley View Hotel and Casino, Loews Coronado, Hotel Solamar and many others, have called upon Dynalectric for their full-service electrical contracting needs. The company’s design-build capabilities include high-voltage systems, electrical distribution, fire alarm, life safety, tele-data communications, security/CCTV, building automation, instrumentation and control systems, HVAC/DDC controls, audio and video networking and power generation.

A recent project that showcases Dynalectric’s expertise is the Hilton San Diego Bayfront. Dynalectric utilized preconstruction services, lean construction techniques and its industry leading BIM (Building Information Modeling) department to take this project from an 11x17 drawing to a fully designed hotel ready for construction. The company was responsible for every electrical connection in the hotel including power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, fire alarm, tele-data communications, CATV, security/CCTV, audio visual and HVAC/DDC controls. The electrical distribution system consists of three 4,000 amp services with a 1.5 megawatt diesel generator along with a UPS system to provide emergency and standby power. Utilizing preplanning, and BIM, throughout preconstruction resulted in flawless, on schedule and under budget electrical installation.

The now completed hotel rises 32-stories above the edge of San Diego Bay. With more than 1 million square feet, the hotel resides on a 12.8-acre site that includes a 4-acre public park. The hotel consists of 1,190 guest rooms including 30 luxury suites with state-of-the-art technology. The balance of the hotel totals nearly 500,000 square feet of public space including the grand and junior ballrooms, 34 meeting rooms, two restaurants, cocktail and wine bar, full spa with complete workout facility, bayside pool with snack bar, Starbucks Coffee and Fox Sports Grill.

This experience and expertise, combined with Dynalectric’s outstanding safety record, continues to earn the company recognition amongst its peers. The American Subcontractors Association named Dynalectric the 2012 Subcontractor of the Year, while in 2011 the National Electrical Contractors Association, NAVFAC Southwest, Association of General Contractors and the American Subcontractors Association recognized Dynalectric for safety excellence.

Dynalectric Company is the choice for San Diego hoteliers when they need full-service electrical work performed in a professional, efficient and safe manner, that contributes to the overall success of their project. Experience. Industry Leading Performance. Breadth of Capabilities. Optimum safety. Receive them all when you work with Dynalectric.
