Construction Agenda: Oceanside City Council looks to move skate park forward

There is some construction activity at municipalities this week, even as the holidays get closer.

In Poway on Tuesday, the City Council is expected to award a $71,630 contract to Just Construction Inc. for the Old Poway Park Pedestrian Improvement Project. The City Council is also expected to award a contract to F.D. Thomas Inc. in the amount of $642,460 for the Water Treatment Plant Corrosion Repair Project.

The Escondido City Council on Wednesday is scheduled to approve a $161,135 consulting agreement with Group 4 Architecture, Research + Planning Inc. for the conceptual design of the Phase 1 expansion of the Escondido Public Library.

Also Wednesday, the Oceanside City Council is slated to approve a $946,350 contract for Upland, Calif.-based California Skateparks to design and construct the Alex Road Skatepark. The council is also scheduled to award a $53,285 contract to Seattle-based Grindline Skateparks Inc. for construction support services.

The National City Planning Commission has canceled its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday.
