Reno Contracting has been selected to serve as the general contractor in a tenant improvement project for the Latham & Watkins law firm, the construction firm announced Thursday.
At a cost of $7.3 million, the construction project will consolidate two Latham & Watkins San Diego facilities into one new facility, to be located at Del Mar Plaza I in Del Mar Heights.
Hughes Marino has been selected as the construction manager while architectural firm Gensler will be the principal designer.
According to a release, the construction team will pursue a LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for the project, which will include construction for occupancy of a new 69,000-square-foot, three-floor exclusive law office, a 3,500-square-foot patio on the ground floor and finishes on the 3,500-square-foot, third-floor exterior deck.
The tenant improvement project will happen in conjunction with the landlord’s construction of the building shell and site improvements.
The Tenant Improvement Division at Reno Contracting was launched in 2012 after the firm launched its Efficient Sustainable Practices and Solar business units. The project’s completion is expected around January 2014.
