Sweetwater board to hear Prop. O report

It’s a slow week for construction at municipalities and public education boards, with President’s Day on Monday.

Tuesday, the board of the Sweetwater Union High School District is slated to accept a progress report on construction spending for new construction and modernization projects, and approve new and revised budgets pertaining to Proposition O.

The school district is also slated to approve the addition of consultants to the list of pre-qualified consultants, and authorize staff to negotiate contracts with the additional pre-qualified firms for professional services through June 30, 2013.

Also Tuesday, the City Council in National City is expected to approve the seventh amendment to the agreement between the city and Dokken Engineering, in the amount of $135,000, to provide engineering and construction support services for the Plaza Boulevard Widening Project.

The city of Escondido will not hold its regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, as Mayor Sam Abed will present the State of the City address.
