Hawthorne Cat opens Rent-It Service center in Chula Vista

Caterpillar construction equipment dealer Hawthorne Cat has opened a new location for its Hawthorne Rent-It Service in Chula Vista, giving the company three in the region.

The new facility is the first to open in the South Bay area. The other two locations are in Lakeside and San Marcos.

Hawthorne describes the centers as offering the largest Tier 4 construction rental fleets in San Diego County. More than 420 Tier 4 final and interim units are available through the three locations, with more to come through the year, Hawthorne said in a release.

Dave Ness, Hawthorne Cat's vice president, said the count could exceed 600 by the end of the year.

"Hawthorne Rent-It Service can ensure our rental customers meet the contractor emission compliance standards for any job,” Ness said. “Contractors who rent Tier 4 machines have greater flexibility to take on more jobs by eliminating the responsibility of equipment ownership, maintenance concerns and job site emissions specific requirements. These are huge benefits to our rental customers."

The new Rent-It Service center is located at 680 Moss St. in Chula Vista.
