Higgs' Gibson named co-chair of SD bar construction section

Higgs Fletcher & Mack LLP partner Michael Gibson was recently elected as co-chair of the San Diego County Bar Association's construction law section for 2013.

Gibson’s role will be to ensure that relevant programs and timely topics are delivered to members and attendees, as well as organizing events for networking and professional development.

“Just like the construction industry itself, the field of construction law continues to experience a number of changes,” Gibson said. “In order to keep those who practice in this area up-to-date, we’ll be holding informative programs on new laws impacting indemnity obligations, discovery practices, and other timely subjects. I’m excited to be co-chairing this section for another year.”

Additionally, the construction law section supports community service endeavors, including FaceLift projects organized by Community HousingWorks, where volunteers assist in exterior painting and landscaping, as well as trash and debris removal from pre-selected neighborhoods.

Suggestions on seminar topics or those interested in making a presentation to the construction law section can contact Gibson at gibsonm@higgslaw.com or his co-chair, David Smiley, at dsmiley@mftb.com.
