AGC Southern California Construction Technology EXPO
Hosted by AGC San Diego Chapter's Technology Trends in Construction Committee, this is an informational, educational and social event that only comes around every four years. Green Homes Tour
The tour boasts a variety of green home examples, from newly constructed multi-family complexes, older beach cottage renovations, modern homes built with straw bales, and more. During the tour, people can visit as many or as few of the homes as they'd like. Participants are encouraged to speak to the home owners, builders, designers and architects about the green choices they've made & why. Last year's event brought more than 200 people.

Japanese Friendship Garden Pavilion
Kotaro Nakamura, principal of RNT Architects, will conduct a tour of the new Japanese Friendship Garden Pavilion at Balboa Park. The newly-expanded garden includes lush Japanese landscape and waterfalls running into a koi pond. The Pavilion building is a post and beam structure designed to house multiple activities including meetings, exhibitions and wedding receptions in the main open-ceiling hall with a 300-person capacity. Construction Workforce Outreach Event
The San Diego Contracting Opportunities Center will offer construction trade apprentice program opportunities for local residents looking to work in the construction field. Representatives from numerous construction & building trade apprenticeship training programs will be present to discuss beginning a career in construction. Enrolled apprentices will be directly eligible to work on the many Southwestern College construction projects funded through Proposition R, a $389 million bond program.
