It’s a slow week for construction at municipalities and public education boards, with President’s Day on Monday.

A new judge presiding over the cases against more than a dozen defendants facing various charges of corruption in multiple South County school and college districts has pushed back the defendants’ arraignment dates once again.

Loews Coronado Bay Resort has undergone a redesign of its lobby, Bay Terrace, Cays Lounge, Market Café and Market-to-Go, wrapping up a nine-month-long transformation on the heels of additional renovations to the meeting space, corridors and guestroom bathrooms, totaling an investment of $12 million over the last three years.

Cumming Corp., a San Diego-based international project and cost management firm, delivered services on more than $7 billion worth of projects in 2012, according to company President Pete Heald at a recent open house at its headquarters.
