WEST 2014 docks in SD starting Tuesday

The Western Conference and Exposition (WEST 2014), the largest event on the West Coast for sea services and contractors, is hitting the San Diego Convention Center full force on Tuesday with non-stop programming through Thursday.

Sponsored by the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) International and the U.S. Naval Institute, the expo gives active duty U.S. and allied military members, government, industry and academia decision-makers the opportunity to engage with and hear from industry leaders.

The schedule includes presentations by Christine King, the acting deputy Secretary of Defense; the Hon. Richard Danzig, vice chair of the board of Rand Corp. and the former Secretary of the Navy; Pat Sullivan, SPAWAR’s executive director; and Adm. Harry Harris Jr., commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet. Also speaking will be the commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps, the vice chief of naval operations and the commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard.

Topics center on the military and maritime industries, from tactical, technological and business perspectives.

This will be the expo’s 23rd year.
