UCSD celebrates Founder's Day

The University of California at San Diego celebrates its Founder's Day on Friday, Nov. 16 beginning at 11:30 a.m.

The commemoration of the day the campus was officially founded in 1960 kicks off with a digital history of UCSD presented through the eyes of past chancellors, followed by the investiture of Chancellor Pradeep K. Khosla, the eighth chancellor of UC San Diego.

Affinity booths with representatives from nearly 20 academic departments, UCSD alumni and campus organizations will be present, and entertainment from the UCSD Tritones, Pep Band, King Triton and artists in the Division of Arts and Humanities will contribute to the fun. Gourmet food trucks including Devilicious, Flippin’ Pizza, Super Q and The Dog Shack will have a sampling of free bites at this free event.

Activities will be held at Town Square on UCSD's campus.
