Alliant International University professor David Felsen has been appointed by the mayor's office to the city of San Diego's International Affairs Board. The nomination was approved by City Council on Nov. 27 and the term of service is for two years.
The mission of the International Affairs Board is to foster and promote friendly relations and better understanding between people and communities of the United States and the people and communities of foreign nations; further economic cooperation and cultural interchange; develop, compile and exchange information; and plan, develop and carry out mutual economic and cultural activities.
The board is charged with rendering an annual report of its work to the mayor.
"I feel privileged to have been invited to serve on the city of San Diego's International Affairs Board," Felsen said. "It is an important advisory body and reflects the city's commitment to broadening the city's international and cross-cultural ties. As a professor of international studies at Alliant, I am excited about the possibility of contributing to this critical mission over these next two years."
