Wells Fargo donates $90,000 to Casa Familiar in San Ysidro

Wells Fargo & Co. (NYSE: WFC) will donate $90,000 to Casa Familiar of San Ysidro as part of $6 million in grants awarded to 59 nonprofits, according to a release. Through its 2012 Leading The Way Home Program Priority Markets Initiative, Wells Fargo hopes to help stabilize and revitalize neighborhoods hard-hit by the economy.

The grant will support Casa Familiarís Senior Gardens Affordable Housing project, which will provide 13 rental units of housing to low-income families in San Ysidro. Senior Gardens will provide an innovative and green housing solution for seniors who have custody or who are taking care of their grandchildren.

Casa Familiar is a 501(c)(3) organization that serves south San Diegoís population. It offers more than 50 programs in human services, community development, recreation services, technology, arts and culture, and education.
