San Diego Private Bank expands north

San Diego Private Bank is expanding into Orange County.

The La Jolla bank said its new division, called Newport Private Bank, opened an office at the Airport Business Center in Irvine.

"We are excited to be participating in the dynamic private banking and family business markets of Orange County," said Selwyn Isakow, chairman and president of San Diego Private Bank.

Darlene Ryan has been appointed market president of the Newport Private Bank division. Stephanie Juneau joins as senior vice president and relationship manager, while Rick Mercadefe was named vice president and relationship manager, and Troy Kendrick is assistant vice president and account executive.

Together the new team has more than 60 years of banking experience. The new office is located at 18552 MacArthur Blvd., Suite 220.

San Diego Private Bank was formed in August 2006 to focus on providing private banking services, and has since expanded into commercial and SBA lending.

In November, Coronado First Bank and San Diego Private Bank announced a plan to merge, pending regulatory and shareholder approval, and subject to customary closing conditions.
