San Diego’s John Chalker was reappointed to the California Transportation Commission by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on Wednesday. Chalker has served on the commission since 2005.
The position will take effect on March 1 and requires Senate confirmation
The managing director for LM Capital Group, Chalker is the founder of ASAP-21 (Alliance in Support of Airport Progress for the 21st Century). He worked for Merrill Lynch from 1980 to 1995, ending his tenure as vice president and senior financial consultant.
From 1972 to 1979, he served in the U.S. Navy as a carrier-based attack pilot. Chalker is a member of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce and the San Diego World Trade Center. Additionally, he is a former member of the Contractors State License Board, where he served as chair from 1996 to 1997.
