Viry 8:30am October 21, 2012Anyone who knows about polling and poilitcs will look deeper into these numbers and notice the real message.First, on how you should read favorability ratings: Donna has solid favorables, but also has exceedingly high unfavorables. You should look at the ratio of favorable to unfavorable, which shows DeMaio and Dumanis in a good position vs. all others.Second, and more important, this poll is of registered voters, not likely voters and even more so not likely primary voters. OLDER voters tend to be much more likely to vote and more likely in primaries. Partisan voters same thing in a primary they vote much more than independents who wait until the General.Given that, you should look at who has the best numbers among people 55 and older and then look at who does well among the partisans. And when you do the numbers are striking! If you look at the data from that informed lens, what emerges is DeMaio is in a very very strong position right now.
paul vandeveld 5:42pm October 14, 2012Wow! Carl Demaio really blew the lid off of Filner's commitment to perform his duties as a public official. What a horrible backfire on Demaio. Demaio isn't qualified to be a dog catcher, let alone a Mayor.
