Dave Roberts has expanded his lead slightly over Steve Danon in the District 3 Board of Supervisors race after the release of a second round of late absentee and provisional ballot counts.
An additional 50,000 ballots were counted and announced Friday, of a total of the 475,000 absentee and provisional ballots that were not tallied on Election Day. Combined with the 100,000 counted Thursday, about 325,000 of them are left to count from around the county, according to the Registrar of Voters.
Roberts, the deputy mayor of Solana Beach has a lead in the race of 2,229 votes, holding 50.77 percent of the vote with a total of 73,728 votes. Danon has 71,499 votes. Another round of released ballot counts is expected Monday.
