National City City Hall will be closed for two weeks starting Dec. 24.
The city says the two-week furlough closure is being done to cut costs. It is estimated $140,127 in salaries will not be paid and $11,236 in energy cost will be saved because of the closure.
Police and fire departments will remain in operation including animal control, graffiti abatement and parking enforcement. Park maintenance will also continue.
The city will have public works, fire investigations and executives and managers from each department on-call.
During the two week closure, the Senior Nutrition Center dining room and home delivery meals will not be affected.
The City Hall Finance Department drop box will be available to make payments, and library materials will not be due during this time and fines will not accrue.
City Hall is scheduled to reopen on Jan. 7.
