Community board appointments approved by county supervisors

In the San Diego County Board of Supervisors' first meeting of the year under new chair Dianne Jacob, the board approved 21 recommendations to fill openings on community and district groups, boards and committees.

The appointments enacted recommendations coming from Jacob, Chief Administrative Officer Helen Robbins-Meyer, and supervisors Dave Roberts and Ron Roberts. They included the Jacob-recommended appointments of Susan Major King and Roberts Ames Smith to the Pine Valley Community Planning Group; Lynn Carlson, Juliana Bugbee and Frank I. Hilliker to the Lakeside Design Review Board; Phyllis Trombi to the Gillespie Field Development Council; and Karla Carroll to the Crest/Dehesa/Granite Hills/Harbison Canyon Community Planning Group.

Dave Roberts' sole recommendation was Maria McEneany to the Commission of the Status of Women's No. 6 seat.

Four appointments were made at the recommendation of Supervisor Ron Roberts, including the reappointment of Elizabeth DeSouza to the Resource Conservation District of Greater San Diego County, the reappointment of John Sturm to the Mental Health Board, Jeffrey A. Carle's placement on the Fish and Wildlife Advisory Committee and Christopher Kahn's appointment to the Emergency Medical Care Committee.

The remaining appointments came on recommendations from Robbins-Meyer, including six members of the HIV Health Services Planning Council of San Diego County: Michael Pennerman, Dr. Amanda Quayle, Michael Lochner, Lucia Franco, Susan Frye and Mary Caffery; and two appointments to the San Dieguito EMS District Advisory Committee: Nancy Hillgren as the primary representative from the Rancho Santa Fe Fire Protection District and Tucker Stine as alternate.

Mike Rand was also named an alternate representative to the Emergency Medical Care Committee at Robbins-Meyer's recommendation.
