The first week of February is light on the construction front at muncipalities, as most are not scheduled to meet.
The Chula Vista City Council on Tuesday is slated to award the Montgomery Elementary School Pedestrian Improvements Project to Just Construction Inc. in the amount of $110,000.
Also Tuesday, the San Diego City Council is scheduled to request authorization to transfer appropriations to the Torrey Pines Road Improvement project. This will remove sidewalk obstructions on the north side of Torrey Pines Road, and install a new sidewalk on the road's south side.
In Coronado on Tuesday, the City Council is planning to authorize the city manager to sign an agreement to accept a grant in the amount of $172,800 from the California Department of Transportation for the Coronado Scenic Loop Project.
On Wednesday, the California Coastal Commission is expected to hear amendment requests on the Lane Field project. The changes include moving the two hotel towers back 150 feet back from Harbor Drive, accommodating construction of a 1.66-acre public park, reducing heights of hotel towers by 10-30 feet, and reducing retail space from 80,000 square feet to 63,549 square feet.
In addition, the Carlsbad City Council has adjourned its next meeting to Feb. 12.
