San Diego's Envision Solar International Inc. (OTC: EVSI), a renewable energy media and branding product company, announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office issued a patent for EnvisionTrak, the company's tracking system that enables Solar Tree structures to follow the sun as it moves across the sky while maintaining their lineal alignment with the location in which they are installed. The patent was issued as U.S. Patent No. 8,648,551.
EnvisionTrak is a system of gears, electric motors and computational devices that enable the repositioning of a solar array without swinging or rotation. This technological advance means that Envision Solar's tracking products can be placed in locations where traditional tracking systems could not safely operate.
EnvisionTrak has been integrated into a variety of Envision Solar's products including, Solar Tree Standard, Solar Tree Socket, Solar Tree HVBA and EV ARC. This tracking solution makes it possible for the company's products to deliver the highest amount of renewable energy from the available real estate. This is particularly important for products like EV ARC, which charges electric vehicles from the solar energy captured in a single parking space.
