Craig Mundie to join RainTree Oncology board

San Diego-based RainTree Oncology Services Corp. announced that Craig Mundie, senior adviser to the CEO of Microsoft Corp., has joined its board of directors.

Mike Martin, president and CEO of RainTree, stated in a release that Mundie is a "visionary technology executive" whose appointment is a part of RainTree's ongoing expansion.

"Through our new strategic partnership with Express Scripts and our growing suite of RainTree Analytics products, we are creating an automated National Oncology Medical Home that will enable better care at lower costs," Martin said. "Craig's talent and experience will be invaluable as we help to take patient care and practice performance in community oncology to the next level."

Mundie has also been Microsoft's principal technology policy liaison to the U.S. and foreign governments, with an emphasis on China, India and Russia. He has served on the U.S. National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee and the Markle Foundation Task Force on National Security in the Information Age. He was appointed in 2009 by President Barack Obama to the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.
