The Westin San Diego completed its $15 million transformation of the 436-room property.
The hotel, located in downtown San Diego, has completed upgrades to its guest rooms, restaurant, lobby, and meeting facilities and now features a WestinWORKOUT Fitness Studio and Tangent By Westin workspace.
The new lobby concept incorporates natural elements, vertical gardens, flexible and functional seating and a café with grab-and-go food options. The vertical garden is designed to improve indoor air quality and create a calming, more natural environment. The freestanding check-in pods replace the traditional hotel check-in desk and are ergonomically designed with work surfaces at optimum heights and a more spacious, personal guest interaction area.
The new lobby design consists of meeting and seating areas designed with connectivity in mind, with conveniently located power outlets and easy access to computers and printers. Seating zones have power panels built into side tables for easy accessibility. Flexible spaces can easily transform in order to accommodate varying levels of interaction and intimacy, from semi-private meetings to casual gatherings with friends.
The new Tangent At Westin offers smart technology and intuitive design that helps guests connect with colleagues around the table or across the globe. Available by the hour, for small groups of up to four people, this workspace allows guests to share digital content with the latest technology; brainstorm ideas on our floor-to-ceiling white boards; and access computers, printers and advanced videoconferencing.
The Westin San Diego is the first Westin to receive Starwood’s generation four guestroom design in Southern California. The guestroom is softened with organic textures that have subtle patterns and sustainable materials that are neutral in color. The new Westin San Diego guestroom also offers the Westin Heavenly Bed, which features lush sheets, down cushioning and a patented pillow-top mattress and all-new flat screen, 50-inch televisions.
The Westin San Diego offers 25,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and banquet space, catering and event planning services and the latest in meeting technology. Additional facilities include Coast, the hotel’s refreshed restaurant and lounge, a 24-hour WestinWORKOUT Fitness Studio, two new war rooms, and business center.
