Senior Community Centers will present “Notes to our Sons and Daughters,” a stylized black-and-white photographic exhibition featuring 30 diverse members of the community with emphasis on the wisdom of their lifeís journey. The exhibition is a fundraising project to benefit San Diego seniors and support the advocacy efforts of Senior Community Centers, a nonprofit agency transforming the aging experience for San Diego’s vulnerable seniors, by promoting a positive portrayal of aging.
An evening reception will unveil the photographs on Oct. 11 at the Port Pavilion on Broadway Pier Event Center, according to a release. Festivities begin at 6 p.m.; individual tickets are $150 for general admission and $250 for VIP.
Each photograph will accompany a note from the subject, revealing lessons learned to be passed on to the next generation, our collective sons and daughters. After the event, the photos will become part of a traveling exhibit throughout San Diego County.
