California Western School of Law associate deans William J. Aceves and Laura M. Padilla recently were elected to the American Law Institute. It is the nation's leading independent organization producing scholarly work to clarify, modernize and improve the law.
Of the 64 members elected to the ALI this year, Aceves and Padilla were the only legal professionals from San Diego named to the prestigious group.
Aceves joined the faculty of California Western in 1998, his scholarship focusing on international law, human rights, and civil liberties. Padilla joined the California Western faculty in 1992 with a scholarly program focused on property rights, race, gender and spirituality.
