The Lawyers Club of San Diego honored two of its longtime members at its annual dinner last week -- Vickie E. Turner and Michele Macosky.
Turner, a partner with Wilson Turner Kosmo was awarded the Belva Lockwood Award for her enduring commitment to Lawyers Club while Macosky was given the Community Service Award for her devotion to bettering the community.
The Lockwood award is named for Belva Anne Lockwood (1830-1917), who devoted her life to improving the social, economic and political status of women and advocating equality for all.
Turner has devoted her life to improving the status of women and advocating opportunity and equality for all. She has served on several Lawyers Club committees and was the organization's president in 1996 to1997. Turner also was instrumental in establishing Lawyers Club Fund for Justice, which provides local organization with charitable gifts, and she continues to serve on the organization's advisory board.
Macosky, a solo practitioner with an emphasis in employment law, has chaired the Lawyers Club Community Outreach Committee since its formation in 1997.
She was honored for her record of great deeds and efforts in the community. In addition to being active in Lawyers Club, Macosky has served on the board of directors of the Center for Community Solutions and the San Diego County Commission on the Status of Women.
