Best Best & Krieger recently elected San Diego partner Shawn Hagerty to its executive committee, which makes key business decisions for the firm’s nine offices in the state and in Washington D.C.
The two-year appointment is effective immediately.
Hagerty joins two other partners newly elected to the committee along with Eric Garner, the firm’s managing partner, and Gene Tanaka, an environmental litigator based in Walnut Creek, who already sit on the executive committee.
“I would like to congratulate and welcome the new members to the committee, while also giving a heartfelt thanks to the outgoing members whose dedication helped the firm continue to be a success,” Garner said.
James Gilpin of San Diego is among the three outgoing executive committee members, each of whom spent several years at the helm of the law firm known for representing public agencies and private businesses.
Hagerty has served as city attorney for Santee since 2003, and he has been with BB&K since 1996. He also serves as corporate counsel to Civic San Diego (formerly the Centre City Development Corp.). In addition, his practice focuses on helping cities deal with water quality regulations, including those for stormwater. He received his law degree in 1995 from the University of Wisconsin.
