Steve Hunsicker 6:01pm February 7, 2013It was my great privilege to be a student in Harvey's first year torts class at the University of San Diego School of Law in 1972. What an experience! Trying to meet Harvey's standards and expectations for his students was a real challenge, and for me and i am sure others was the most positive experience from law school. He gave me the self-confidence I needed (after a somewhat undistinguished undergraduate record) to pursue my own successful career in law. The USD class of '75 is widely regarded as extraordinary. We were blessed to have exceedingly talented class-mates, in a mix that clicked then and has maintained over the years. I think a good part of that is due to the challenge we enjoyed together in Harvey's tort class and the important lessons that he conveyed. He crossed many of our paths and touched my life as a law professor in the most positive way that I can imagine. I will be pleased to always think of him as a mentor and friend. Cecylia Escarcega 9:35pm February 6, 2013It was an honor to work at Levine, Steinberg, Miller and Huver with the top attorneys that worked along side with Harvey. Every attorney who got to work with Harvey learned from the best. What Judy, Harvey's lovely wife, said about him being a genious at strategy was right on the mark. When Harvey walked into the office by my desk, you could tell that he was thinking about his legal work. He had a look of concentration that was indelible. I got to hear Harvey's opening statement at the trial for SD Charger Steve Foley, and watched the jury members looking at Harvey as he spoke. The jury was captivated by his words, along with everyone in the court. Harvey's mark in legal community in San Diego will last for generations. Everyone who got to know Harvey, met a friend and mentor.
