The San Diego County Bar Association (SDCBA) has been awarded the American Society of Association Executives’ (ASAE) top award, the 2014 Gold Circle award, in the "new product/service launch" category for the SDCBA’s Bar Center at 401 campaign.
The national awards are designed to recognize excellence, innovation and achievement in association/nonprofit marketing, membership and communications programs.
“Receiving the Gold Circle award is a tremendous honor, particularly as it recognizes our vision of creating a true ‘home’ for our members and a new ‘hub’ for the legal community at the Bar Center at 401,” said Jon R. Williams, SDCBA president. “We are incredibly proud to be recognized amongst so many distinguished national associations.”
The Bar Center at 401 campaign was developed to encourage members to visit the association’s new headquarters, and to make use of its common space, which includes a member lounge, conference rooms and shared workspace.
To encourage grassroots awareness, the SDCBA hosted various tours and breakfasts for area law firms, legal organizations, and the faculty of local law schools. In addition, the SDCBA created a series of lifestyle programs and workshops free of charge for members, including a bi‐monthly book club, weekly Weight Watchers meetings, and PR power hours with public relations professionals.
The SDCBA also used an integrated multimedia communications approach to its messaging and branding for the Bar Center at 401. The campaign helped generate more than 5,000 unique visitors to the Bar Center at 401 in the first year since opening.
The SDCBA will receive its Gold Circle award at ASAE’s 2014 Marketing, Membership, and Communications Conference in Washington, D.C., on June 17.
