Former Gov. Deukmejian endorses Brewer for DA

Former California Governor and Attorney General George Deukmejian Monday announced his endorsement of Bob Brewer for district attorney of San Diego County.

Brewer, a former partner-in-charge of Jones Day's San Diego office and former managing partner of McKenna Long & Aldridge's local office, is running against three-term incumbent Bonnie Dumanis.

“I’m proud to endorse Bob Brewer for San Diego County District Attorney,” Deukmejian wrote. “As a former California attorney general, I have perspective on Bob’s qualifications as a prosecutor, and as a fellow United States Army veteran, I appreciate his long-time commitment to public service.

"Bob was an accomplished state and federal prosecutor, and as an attorney in private practice he has been honored for his ethical conduct."
