Ryan to head Latham's litigation department in SD

The law firm Latham & Watkins LLP announced Wednesday that partner Jake Ryan has been named chair of the firm’s litigation department in its San Diego office.

Ryan, 46, is a trial lawyer who focuses on intellectual property litigation, white collar criminal defense and government investigations, and other complex business litigation.

He has established a record of successfully resolving cases at trial and by dispositive motions in a wide variety of subject areas, including trade secret misappropriation, unfair competition, and financial fraud.

In his new role, Ryan will help coordinate the efforts of 18 litigators in Latham’s San Diego office, as well as their interaction with fellow litigators and clients across the firm.

Ryan is a former federal prosecutor and a former Navy pilot.
