Maureen Duffy has been working as a litigation legal assistant since 1982. She began her career with Pillsbury in 1987 in the Washington, D.C., office. There she was a senior legal assistant/case manager in the litigation department. She performed all phases of document production, including initial and privilege review, analysis and organization of case documents, and coordinated the physical retrieval and computer database input of documents. She also served as the legal assistant coordinator, managing legal assistants and paralegal clerks across all practice groups.
Duffy transferred to Pillsbury's San Diego office in 1992 to work on the L-tryptophan litigation cases, for which she had case management responsibility for 10 years, assisting the attorneys with all aspects of the litigation from inception of suit through trial or settlement. Additionally, she analyzed and summarized medical records of various plaintiffs for use in defending the cases. Currently, she has case-management responsibility in defending a national energy company in multiple antitrust class actions alleging violation of state and federal antitrust laws and unfair competition.
For the last five years, Duffy has been a committee member for the annual Wine & Dine event for ElderHelp of San Diego, a nonprofit that provides the elderly with the assistance they need to remain in their homes.
