This section honors San Diego County's outstanding Legal Secretaries of 2009, who were chosen by an independent panel based on Team Player Attitude, Substantive Knowledge, Technical & Computer Savvy, Public Relations & Personality, and Professionalism.
Sheri Alcaraz has 12 years of experience as a legal assistant/litigation secretary. She currently works with three partners and two associate attorneys at Pope, Berger & Williams LLP in labor and employment law, including wage and hour class action litigation, and business litigation. She is responsible for preparing and filing documents in multiple counties and jurisdictions, including federal, state and appellate courts, as well as with the Labor Board. Alcaraz also oversees the office staff, delegating workload, and conducting interviews, orientation and training.
She previously served as a paralegal and legal secretary at Herring & Loftus, working in the fields of insurance defense, personal injury, construction defect, real estate, bankruptcy, probate, wills and estates.
Alcaraz earned a Paralegal Associate Degree in 1997 from the Kelsey-Jenney Business College. She is a member of the San Diego Legal Secretaries Association and the National Notary Association.
