San Diego Legal Secretaries 2009 Winner

Julie L. DeVercelly

Gordon & Rees LLP

Julie DeVercelly has experience with statewide California superior and district courts as the legal secretary for two partners and an associate practicing employment, professional liability, business, complex business, securities and product liability litigation, unfair competition, false advertising, business torts, franchising disputes and general liability litigation.

She previously was with Sullivan Hill Lewis Rez & Engel, working for a partner and associate practicing antitrust, family law and civil litigation in California superior and district courts.

DeVercelly was inspired by her mother, Ginny Rhodes. She was not only a personal mentor, but as she was a legal secretary most of her adult working life, she set an exemplary professional standard that DeVercelly strives to follow on an ongoing basis. For most of her long professional career in San Diego she worked for the law firm of Hillyer & Irwin, one of the oldest and most respected law firms in our city (unfortunately no longer in business).

DeVercelly is proud and honored to be employed in the legal field, and most especially at the law firm of Gordon & Rees.
