Kyle Campbell joined Straub Construction Inc. in July 2008 and holds the position of General Counsel/Risk Manager, with responsibility for overseeing and managing all legal matters affecting Straub.
As a member of Straub’s executive team, Campbell supports Straub’s business operations by providing advice and counsel on issues including risk avoidance and mitigation, company policies and procedures, business partner prequalification, employment matters, dispute resolution, contract and subcontract negotiation, intellectual property, bonds and insurance, as well as other general corporate issues.
Over the past several years, Straub, which specializes in public facility construction for government and municipal clients, has steadily grown into one of the most experienced and respected providers of construction services in the Southwestern United States with an outstanding performance record in California, Nevada, Arizona and Alaska. Campbell has been instrumental in negotiating several joint venture agreements and numerous teaming agreements, which have expanded Straub’s ability to successfully compete in new segments of the federal construction market and on projects of greater size, complexity and scope.
Since joining Straub, Campbell has played an integral roll in Straub’s collaborative approach to construction projects. The company has proven to anticipate project challenges, develop solutions that meet client’s objectives and deliver award-winning projects. Campbell’s efforts in sub-contractor prequalification, contract negotiation and dispute resolution have directly contributed to the avoidance of significant claims and litigation.
Campbell graduated cum laude with his bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University in 1997, where he was captain of the men’s soccer team, 2004 ACC Player-of-the-Year, All-ACC and All-American. After a short stint in professional soccer, Campbell earned his J.D. and Certificate in Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine University School of Law in 2001. Prior to joining Straub, Campbell practiced at two Los Angeles law firms: Prindle, Decker & Amaro and Gibbs, and Giden, Locher, Turner & Senet, before moving to San Diego to briefly join The Upper Deck Company as corporate counsel.
A San Diego native, Campbell resides in San Elijo Hills with his wife, Tracy; 7-year-old daughter, Spencer; and 5-year-old son, Brody.
