Major Cases
Bridget Moorhead was recently counsel for an insurance company, which insured hundreds of gas station sites nationwide, in complex environmental litigation brought by a major oil company concerning the duty to defend and indemnify, and other coverage issues such as pre-tender costs/voluntary payments; the qualified and absolute pollution exclusion; and damages.
She also participated on a trial team in two four-month jury trials in Wayne County, Mich., and St. Paul, Minn., concerning insurance coverage for breast implant claims, in which she reviewed medical records, drafted pleadings, prepared medical, biochemistry and insurance experts for deposition and trial testimony, prepared jury instructions and cross-examined witnesses at trial.
Professional Background
Moorhead primarily practices in the areas of first- and third-party insurance coverage litigation involving coverage for bodily injury, property damage, personal injury, advertising injury and wrongful acts under general liability, professional liability, and directors and officers liability policies, including allegations of bad faith. She also represents life insurance companies in litigation concerning coverage under accidental death insurance policies.
She has also been a registered nurse since 1984 and served in the Nurse Corps of the United States Navy Reserves on a medical/surgical ward and in a neonatal intensive care unit of a military teaching hospital.
From 1994 to 2003, Moorhead was an attorney with Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps LLP in San Diego, and practiced in the areas of insurance coverage, environmental law and health care. From 2003 to February 2009, she continued her insurance coverage practice as Special Counsel at Duane Morris LLP, San Diego. Since February 2009, Moorhead has been of counsel with Mintz Levin Cohn Ferris Glovsky and Popeo PC.

One of the highlights of her career was in October 2009 when she and another associate at Mintz Levin successfully represented a young man from Somalia seeking political asylum in the United States in Immigration Court through the ABA Immigration Justice Project.
