Corporate Business, Technology
I regularly represent venture capital funds and technology, life sciences and clean tech companies in venture financings. I also represent public and private companies in securities offerings and mergers and acquisitions. I have strong experience representing software, Internet, mobile applications, life science and clean technology companies.
My client base includes leading venture funds such as Mission Ventures and Sid R. Bass & Associates, and leading life science, technology and clean tech companies such as Pathway Genomics, Vmix, Enviance, SG Biofuels and Semtek.
I have represented leading San Diego Internet and software companies in sales to public companies, including the sale of RealAge Inc. to Hearst Corp. and the sale of Akonix to Quest Software, and have represented a number of leading companies in significant venture rounds.
I am the co-chair of the Mintz Levin Venture Capital and Emerging Companies practice group. I started my career as a corporate securities lawyer focused on venture financings, initial public offerings and mergers and acquisitions in Orange County, Calif. I moved to San Diego in 1996, where I continued that focus and developed a strong reputation as a leading technology and venture capital attorney. I also was part of the executive management team of a venture-backed Internet company located in San Diego in 2000 through 2001.
I am presently a board member of the San Diego Venture Group and served as president of the organization in 2003. I also serve as a board member of the CONNECT Springboard program.
