I have been to trial in cases involving misdemeanor criminal issues such as shoplifting, reckless driving and DUIs, as well as handling divorces, child custody and adoption cases in trial.
Professional Background
After law school, I went to work for Mackey & Petruccelli, providing legal services for credit union members, working primarily in family law, consumer litigation and misdemeanor criminal defense. I worked for six years as the counseling attorney for students at the University of California, San Diego, helping students with a variety of legal problems. Since 1989, I have been the assistant dean for student affairs at USD School of Law. I have taught in the USD Paralegal Program and, as a trained mediator, have worked with the Mediation Center as a hearing officer for the city.
