Major Cases
Wendy Behan practices in the areas of personal injury and pharmaceutical products liability. She has secured seven-figure settlements for her clients seriously injured in motor vehicle accidents and by defective products. She is currently involved in Hydroxycut MDL litigation in San Diego, as well as Yaz and Zicam product cases, and has been involved in litigation against the manufacturers of Rezulin, Propulsid, Baycol and Metabolife. She was also part of the litigation team in the lawsuits filed on behalf of American prisoners of war who were abused and exploited as slave laborers by Japanese companies during World War II.
Professional Background
Behan recently joined the ranks of local San Diego legal luminaries such as Bonnie Dumanis, Lynn Schenk and Marilyn Huff to be elected president of Lawyers Club of San Diego, which since 1972 has sought to advance the status of women in law and society. She serves for a one-year term for 2010-2011, spearheading the board of directors. Behan graduated cum laude from California Western School of Law and earned honors including the Wiley W. Manual Pro Bono Services Award and an American Jurisprudence Award.
Professional Affiliations
Behan is currently serving as president of Lawyers Club of San Diego and has been a board member for the past three years after serving as a committee chairperson. She also serves as a mentor to law students and new attorneys through Lawyers Club and Cal Western mentor programs, and served on the planning committee for Couture for a Cause in 2009. She is also affiliated with American Association for Justice (formerly ATLA), Consumer Attorneys of California, Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, San Diego County Bar Association, California Women Lawyers and Mother Attorneys Mentoring Association.
Personal Affiliations
Behan is very active with her children's school, School of the Madeleine in Bay Park. She also volunteers as team mom with their soccer teams in the Pacific Youth Soccer League. Along with her mother, a breast cancer survivor, Behan in 2007 completed the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure, a 60-mile walk benefiting breast cancer research.
Personal Background
Behan is a native Southern California resident. She grew up in Laguna Hills and attended undergraduate school in Santa Barbara, where she met her husband, Sean. In 1995, she moved to San Diego to attend law school and soon thereafter married Sean, a native San Diegan. Their family now includes two sons, Connor, age 9, and Colin, age 5.
